1911: Spring Sign

Spring Sign
Mourning Cloak butterfly catching some rays. These tough little critters over-Winter by hibernating under tree bark until we get a warm-ish (50+F) windless and sunny day, so they can warm their wings. They do not nectar. Instead, they feed on tree sap. Some tag the Robin as the first sure sign of Spring. For me, it's the Mourning Cloak.
