Nesting Great Horned Owl

To learn more about the Great Horned Owl, click the title, above.

Examine this photo carefully and you will see the owl's head from about eyebrows up. Being wild (and shy), the bird has hunkered down and is peering back at you through a maize of twigs and branches.

This particular nest is located in a suburban woodlot retained when the surrounding land developed.

Want to get in touch with your "wild world?" It's easy... get involved. Attend a meeting of your local Audubon Society. If you like the experience, become a member. Click Washtenaw Audubon Society for a sampling of what they offer.
